The rug pad is about  1/3 of an inch which is perfect thickness!

grip” side down on hard flooring for maximum gripping power or place the soft
felted fiber side down on top of wall-to-wall carpeting to keep your area rugs
from budging or creasing; this rug pad adds an extra layer of cushion for a
comfortable feel when walking across your area rugs.

a rug pad, choose a general size and then include the EXACT size of your area
